Forrest Coyner Cook passed away peacefully at New Hanover Medical Center on September 13, 2016. Mr. Cook was a native of Deerfield and Staunton. He was the son of the late Charles and Thelma Coyner Cook. Born August 14, 1929 Mr. Cook joined the US Army in 1948 and retired in 1968. SFC Cook was veteran of Vietnam and served with the 82nd Airborne.

He transitioned from glider planes to parachutist in his distinguished career.

He is survived by brothers Charlie Cook, Fred Cook and sister Lois Breen of Staunton. Daughters Carol Pollock (Gene) of Holden Beach NC, Tammy and Debbie of Staunton and son Terry Cook of Harris Pa. Five grand children, three great grand children and one great great grand child.

Mr. Cook enjoyed spending time with Lois Charlie and Fred. He touched a number of people in his lifetime and will be missed by all.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2016, in Thornrose Cemetery.
